Scooter Hire
You can hire a scooter and ride around the whole island. As the trip is only around 20 kilometres, this will take you as little as an hour to complete. There are no traffic lights, only cement road and lots of scenery to stop and see along the way. We are located close to Nanliao Harbor and as there is only one gas station on Green Island (which is open between 08:00 and17:00) make sure you remember to fill your gas tank at the beginning of the trip.
Groceries and Shopping
7-11 & Family Mart are available on the island, but do charge an 10% additional tax due to Green Island's offshore location.
You can buy goods at the Duty Free Store on your departure. Make sure you order your products at least 1 hour before departing the island. You must pick the products up in person at the Pick up Counter at least 50 minutes prior to departure. Make sure you present your flight/ferry number, passport and the pick-up slip. You can also pick up products you purchased from Lyudao Vivi Square at Lyudao Airport or Nanliao Harbor.

Lighthouse is one of the area's most popular landmarks. Standing at just over 33 metres in height, the lighthouse is located at Bitoudao Cape, at the end of the Green Island Airport. In 1937, American liner President Hoover hit a reef and was grounded at Green Island. Day and Night, the islanders did whatever they could to help rescue the stranded passengers. Their heroism was rewarded the following year when the US gifted them with the lighthouse.
As Green Island is an island formed by volcanic activity, the volcanic matter exposed to the sea was then further eroded over time by the powerful force of the waves. As a result, interesting forms and structures in the crater walls have been created. The Sleeping Woman and Her Pug are one of the best known examples of this phenomena and are worth the trip up Great Little Wall (Haishangping) to see them.

Did you know, the Zhaori Hot Spring (朝日溫泉) is one of only three natural saltwater hot springs in the world? It's a great place to kick your feet up and after a few, full on days of diving you will definitely deserve it! The Zhaori offers a variety of indoor and outdoor experiences, with temperatures typically reaching between 60 and 70 degrees. A ticket will set you back NT$200 and you'll need to wear a swimming cap, but it's well worth it to enjoy such a rare natural phenomena.
Grab a few beers and some delicious Taiwanese salty fried chicken and head over to the lighthouse to enjoy a night of star gazing by the sea. As you take in the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, it's a great chance to share a few laughs with new friends and exchange stories about your latest Island adventures.
For a small fee to a local tour provider company, you can make the most of the refreshing nighttime breeze with an after dark nature tour. Follow your group leader for a night of discovery as you search for forest dwelling deer (Sika) and giant stick insects (Megacrania tsudai). Be sure to keep your eyes open and watch your step navigating the wild, ancient forest at night.
